Since 2024, the journals Bilan and Finanz und Wirtschaft together with the Fribourg School of Management (HEG-FR), in collaboration with Lombard Odier, have been conducting a major annual survey in Switzerland targeting family businesses whose owner-managers are part of the second generation or later. The aim of the survey is to gain a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities family businesses face in Switzerland.
The results are analyzed in detail and published annually in an editorial feature in the Bilan journal in September and the Finanz und Wirtschaft journal in October. This year's survey primarily focused on how family businesses plan for succession.
This survey is intended to be an ongoing initiative and become an annual benchmark dedicated to family businesses and their specific characteristics.
